Born in the coastal Karnataka Village of Padubidri,near Mangalore, UB Bhat ("UB" to friends) is the youngest of the three children to the SBVP Sankrit School Headmaster and Temple Trustee Ullal Ramachandra Bhat and his devoted wife U Netravathi Bhat. UB had a humble, but disciplined & loving childhood. UB moved on fast track, started and became the Head of Marine Products Export Division in 1974 at Cochin. Later in 1978, joined the UB Group at Bangalore as the Export Manager and was actively involved with the concept and launch of india's First Aluminum Keg Draft beer and Canned beer in 1982. UB became the National Head - Sales & Marketing of the Group Brewery Division in 1984 and is credited in building Kingfisher Premium Larger Beer as India's No.1 Beer Brand in 1986, apart from organizing the First Bangalore Kingfisher Derby in 1988. A member of the UB Group's Top Management Team (Brewery Division), he has represented the Company in several trade organizations / business forums.
In 1989, UB started his own Marketing and Management Consultancy Firm, extending Services to National & Multinational Companies in India and Nepal, with diverse products ranging from Mosaic Tiles / Granites to Industrial Gases to Wheat Flour to Coffee, Imported Fitness Equipments and of course Beer. However, between 2000-2006, UB got back to corporate life and has worked as Head Marketing & Sales, Head Strategy & Business Development & Corporate Consultant at Mysore Breweries, a subsidiary of SABMiller India Ltd.
UB, a good communicator, is a Guest faculty at IIM Bangalore, TAPMI - Manipal, BIM Trichy, TECSOK, IMM - Delhi, IITC - Bombay and host of Corporates in the Marketing, Sales & Distribution, Product Launching, Communication and General Management.
